Servicing and Upgrades

Is your Desktop, All-in-One or Laptop computer running slow? Is your hard drive full? Is it just old and possibly need replacing?

With free 15 minute service I can give you a quick assessment on your options, which could save you a lot of money.

Whether you just need software removing, memory adding or a new hard drive, I'm here to help and my costs are reasonable too. Unfortunately I don't do repairs.

Small Business contracts available upon request

Example Charges

All prices are subject to change and will vary depending on your personal, specific requirements
Payment may be made using Cash, Credit/Debit Card or Bank Transfer.

Free 15 min spec analysis, including consultation, for personal computers. Business contracts available upon request.
Available at any suitable public location or for home/business visit. Primary locations in Huyton and Prescot.
Travel fees may be charged for areas outside Old Swan, Huyton and Prescot. Travel within Merseyside only.
Online remote service may also be an option, however face-to-face meetings are preferred.

£25 for a full one hour service - includes: removal of unwanted, unnecessary redundant software and startup check.
£10 to £25 for system, software and driver updates, installation of new recommended software, depending on your requirements.

Memory upgrades (new parts from £30) will be dependent of the cost of parts and requirements (4GB, 8GB, 16GB - DDR4, DDR5) with an installation fee of £10, if not included with other services.

Hard Drive upgrades (from £40) and system cloning will also be dependent on the cost of parts and the amount of storage required (256GB, 512GB, 1TB, 2TB - SSD, NVMe M.2, NVMe BM). New drive can be configured to Dual Boot Windows & Linux Mint.
Quotes will be provided before any work is carried out.

Dual-Boot with Linux Mint (approx £50) If you have a large hard drive, and depending on your storage usage, if may be possible to install a dual-boot to Linux Mint. You can then run most of your daily software with less battery drain, and a more customisation.
Other Linux distros are available but I recommend Mint for the best overall package.

New PC (setup from £50) Whether you need a Laptop, All-in-One, Mini PC or Desktop Computer, I will find you the best deals and setup the computer to meet your software requirements and remove any preinstalled bloatware. I can also install a dual-boot to Linux Mint, which should meet most of your needs.
I personally only use Windows 11 for Gaming (however, many games now run on Linux) & Android emulation with Link to Windows, where you can use your phone apps on your PC. Alternatively you can install an Android Emulator such as MeMu or Bluestacks. KDE on Linux can connect to Android phones for basic features.

Minimum Spec: 8 GB RAM - 512 GB SSD - smaller drives generally cost the same, so you may as well get this free upgrade

This will be a personal choice depending on how you use your computer.

I don't recommend less than 8GB RAM or less than 256GB HDD as this may limit future upgrades.
You should also avoid anything less than an Intel i3 or Ryzen 3 processor as they can be too slow, especially if using Windows.
